Determined to elevate the craft, they embarked on a mission to develop a no-mix etchant that would streamline the finishing process, eliminating the uncertainty and inconsistency often faced by makers. To empower artisans with more time to hone their skills rather than wrestle with complex etching techniques, they paired this solution with an accessible step-by-step video series. Collaborating with Greyson of Grey Blades, Baker Forge brought their vision to life, and thus, Gator Piss was born—a game-changing product designed by knifemakers, for knifemakers.

The journey didn’t stop there. In late 2024, the dynamic duo tackled a new challenge: creating a stainless-specific etchant to meet the evolving demands of the community. This effort gave rise to Gator Piss MAX, a powerful addition to the lineup. Hot on its heels came Gator Piss Heavy, engineered for deeper, darker etches that deliver striking contrast and bold definition. With a wealth of exciting new products now in development, Baker Forge and Greyson Weltyk continue to push the boundaries of innovation, solidifying the Gator Piss line as an essential toolset for knifemakers worldwide.
